London is currently gearing up for some very royal celebrations, as King Charles III and Queen Consort Camilla will be crowned at their Coronation on Saturday, May 6th. The couple will be joined by hundreds of guests at Westminster Abbey, including senior members of the Royal Family, politicians and celebrities. The Archbishop of Canterbury will conduct the ceremony, which has been meticulously planned for quite some time. From the bucolic English countryside to the bustling streets of London to the wild Scottish Highlands, Hidden Doorways’ stunning properties across the UK are offering some fun and festive experiences to celebrate this momentous occasion.

The Goring | Belgravia, London

To celebrate King Charles III accession to the throne, The Goring—the only hotel to have been granted a Royal Warrant for hospitality services—will be serving a decedent Coronation themed Afternoon Tea. Served on the sun dappled veranda overlooking the flourishing garden, guests can look forward to an exquisite menu of fabulous tea cakes and sandwiches topped off with a glass of champagne. The tea menu features King Charles’ favorite cakes and sandwiches — from his much-loved Cream of Lemon to sandwiches filled with produce from other Royal Warrant suppliers, such as Dukeshill Ham. Sweet treats will be adorned with the CRIII insignia, carriages, and crowns. A limited-edition Coronation strawberry and elderflower jam is also served alongside the freshly baked scones.

The Goring will also be serving a limited-edition Coronation Tasting Menu in the Dining Room. Championing a plant-based menu and inspired by Welsh specialties and savory treats that use foraged ingredients, Head Chef Graham Squire has thoughtfully crafted an exquisite offering to foreground the environmental philosophy that is celebrated by King Charles III. If guests only try one dish, it must be the Coddled Clarence Court egg, The Goring’s take on one of King Charles’ favorite dishes.

The Fife Arms | Braemar, Scotland

Situated in the Scottish Highlands just 10 minutes from Balmoral Castle, and in the heart of Royal Deeside, The Fife Arms is the perfect location to mark King Charles’ Coronation. Royal Deeside has a rich and longstanding connection with the Royal family, stemming from the 1850s when Queen Victoria and Prince Albert built Balmoral Castle as a family home, just 9 miles from Braemar. Balmoral is still to this day the official Scottish Residence for the Royal family. Over the weekend, guests will enjoy a special Afternoon Tea, catered picnics at the Highland Games Centre, and a Royal whisky tasting in Bertie’s Whisky Bar, featuring a flight of King Charles’ favorite drams. The tea menu will offer sweet and savory treats such as Classic Victoria Sponge, Chocolate Royale, mini Apple Tarte Tatin, Coronation Chicken, and more.
