Overview
For an unforgettable, off-grid island experience in the French Polynesia, look no further than The Brando resort in Tetiaroa. Named after American actor Marlon Brando who became so enchanted with the island’s rare beauty and history that he teamed up with a local conservationist to create the one-of-a-kind, eco-friendly, uber-luxurious and eponymous resort, The Brando. A leader in conservation and sustainable design, The Brando partners with the Tetiaroa Society who operates the EcoStation on the island Motu Onetahi. Here, scientists from all over the world work to protect biodiversity both on land and the ocean floor while ensuring the rich culture of Polynesia thrives. The resort even utilizes sea water (SWAC) to power its air conditioning. As beautiful as it is sustainable, guest sanctuaries take the form of 36 private villas ranging from one-three bedrooms, overlooking the mesmerizing Turtle Beach and Mermaid Bay. Or for complete seclusion and space, there’s its private residence, Teremoana, complete with hidden beach and plunge pool. Gastronomy focuses on island-grown produce from the Polynesian-inspired dishes served at Beachcomber Café to the sundowner cocktails served at the open-air Te Manu Bar, sweetened with honey made by the island’s Tetiaroa bees. For those looking for a unique culinary adventure, Nami teppanyaki is The Brando’s newest addition, featuring Japanese specialties by Chef Kaito Nakamura and culinary direction by French world-renowned Chef Jean Imbert. Speaking of adventure, take in Tetiaroa Atoll’s crystal-clear waters by scuba diving in the lagoon or paddle-boarding in the ocean or deeply connect with the island’s wildlife with an Island Tour and become a steward of this breathtaking atoll with the Tetiaroa Society. And then unwind in the Varua Polynesian Spa with a treatment rooted in ancient Tahitian spiritual practice in the most peaceful, exotic destination you could dream of.Accommodations
