Considered “Colorado’s Last Great Ski Town”, Crested Butte is a historic Rocky Mountains community located in the Elk Mountains at an elevation of over 8,900 feet, and averages 300 inches of snow per year, making this ski haven the perfect location for a winter adventure. It encompasses the largest single track trails system in the United States. The summer months in Crested Butte are just as impressive, filled with abundant rolling meadows dotted with colourful wild flowers and lush natural scenery. While there is no shortage of outdoor activities to choose from, bike lovers will surely rejoice that Crested Butte is the mountain biking Mecca of the world, containing the largest single track trail system in the entire United States (over 750 miles). A true adventurer’s oasis, Crested Butte also offers snowshoeing, ice climbing, fly fishing, hiking, rock climbing, kayaking, whitewater rafting, and much more.Located in downtown Crested Butte, Scarp Ridge Lodge is a large, airy property with alpine elegance and an open floor plan, making it the perfect home away from home for a family or large group of up to 14 guests. Originally the social centre of the town where miners would father for drinking, dancing, and general revelry, the lodge also honours the history of Crested Butte as an important mining community. Right next door, the equally-chic yet more intimate Sopris House has a cozy decor and a peaceful feel, perfect for a quiet yet fun-filled getaway for up to 10 guests.
Situated above the buzzing Public House and Tap Room, Public House Lofts are large, boldly decorated spaces, which can accommodate up to six guests, that were inspired by three of the music industry’s most renown performance venues: San Fransisco’s Fillmore Auditorium and Winterland, and Manhattan’s famous Beacon Theatre. Take advantage of being right at the centre of all the action while also enjoying the peaceful and awe-inspiring view of Mt. Crested Butte just outside the window.
Accommodations
Scarp Ridge Lodge is a sprawling 13,500 square feet and can cater up to 14 guests. It has five suits with king beds, and a bunkroom with two queens beds, two full beds and three twin beds. A single bedroom connects to the bunkroom. The property also comes equipped with a saltwater pool, sauna and steam room, and indoor and outdoor hot tubs. There is a media room, children’s playroom, library, gym, and large living room.Sopris House offers three suites with king beds, one suite with two full and two twin trundle beds. It can cater up to 10 guests and includes a saloon with a pool table and jukebox, a private outdoor courtyard, media room, outdoor copper hot tub, a cold plunge pool, and a sauna.
Special touches in both Scarp Ridge Lodge and Sopris House include personalised in-room retail bars and individual lockers for gear storage.
Public House Lofts can cater up to six guests and offers three suites with king beds, two of which are lofts. An organic fresh food mini bar is included as a special amenity.
