Overview

With a Moorish and Castilian vibe and a decidedly contemporary edge, Finca Cortesin looks out onto the Mediterranean Sea in southern Spain’s golden Costa del Sol. Upon arrival, you’ll be blown away by the spectacular olive tree-laden grounds. The Great Lawn is at the heart of it all, surrounded by thousands of Spanish white roses with tropical palm trees lining the Olympic-size pool (one of four pools, by the way). Beyond lie the 67 classically Andalusian rooms with their white walls, aged terracotta floors and wooden doors. For families or group celebrations, stay in one of its private villas, such as “The Green 10”; aptly named for their location between holes 9 and 10 on the resort’s championship golf course designed by Cabell Robinson. Luxuriate at the hotel’s spa, rejuvenating snow cave (Spain’s first) and Turkish baths and find serenity at its new ARANĪ Yoga and Meditation Center. Just a five-minute shuttle ride away is the Finca Cortesin Beach Club where an infinity saltwater pool circled with Balinese beds are yours for the taking, or chaise lounges closer to the beach. And to welcome you back home are multiple restaurants serving global cuisine from Japanese specialties to Iberian fare and Italian delicacies.

Accommodations

Originally designed by Spanish architects Roger Torras and Ignacio Sierra, the 67-suites at Finca Cortesin are built around two principle palatial courtyards reminiscent of a Moroccan riad. The suites are elegantly decorated with refined simplicity, high ceilings that lend to the atmosphere of calming serenity and large terraces to enjoy sunsets. All feature sitting rooms with plush furnishings and bathrooms are designed in Italian marble and come with an oversized bath and separate shower area.

Villas
Four-bedroom villas are perfect for large families or groups at over 4,500 square feet. Each bedroom features an en suite bath and king bed, and common areas include a living room with fireplace, dining room, fully furnished kitchen equipped with the latest appliances, powder room, and ample outdoor living with porches, garden and private swimming pool. The architecture is Mediterranean in style, spacious and sunny with beautiful features, creating a smooth transition with the majestic Finca Cortesin Hotel.

For larger groups, gather at the new five-bedroom Green 10 villas that are situated in between hole 9 and 10 of the golf course with stunning views of the Sierra Bermeja mountain range. It infuses traditional Spanish touches with its rustic white walls, reclaimed stone flooring, shady bougainvillea-clad arcades and peaceful garden courtyards. These full-service villas are fresh and contemporary with chic, bright interiors, spacious living room, a modern kitchen, fireplace, indoor and dining area, and stunning pool. Amenities are bountiful from complimentary parking, two hour babysitting (maximum of two children), twice daily housekeeping, one airport transfer for stays of five nights and two airport transfers for stays of seven nights.
